David Horowitz defends his bona fides against the scurrilous charges levelled at him by left wing nuts, like Billmon at Whisky Bar, who are so blinded by ideology that they do not recognize an honest defender of Academic Freedom when he passes among them, spreading sweetness and light. I have known David since High School in Queens, where I was raised by Stalinist parents, and quickly befriended David. Later I joined him (I mean David, not Stalin) and Huey Newton in working with the Black Panther Party, and was a Marxist, shoulder to shoulder with him, in the 1970's. I can attest, based on personal experience, to his intellectual integrity, moral character, and his unwavering commitment to liberal democracy. Now and forever, he has been totally consistent, and those who say otherwise are liberal sacks of garbage. I have never met a man who did more for his country for the kind of money Bradley Foundation pays him. I wouldn't even blog for that kind of chump change. Under two bills. The guy is an idealist. I think if he could afford it he would badger liberals for nothing, just to help rid America of these vermin. Course he has bills to pay like the rest of us. But my point is that he is not hassling liberals just for the money. All his life he has been fighting for Freedom for one side or the other, like me. And what with getting older and all, the guy has got to think about his retirement. Who can blame him for making the most of what he's got, while the market's good?
