Wealth Bondage is the imposition of the latter on the former by force, guile, corruption, and cruelty. The result is what they call Freedom or Ordered Liberty and the proof that it is working is a rising GNP and profits accruing to the owners in an Ownership Society. In the Dumpster our loyalties are to Column A. At under.wealthbondage and at giftub.org and with Tracy G. we work towards the righting of our priorities by connecting with others who feel the same. We operate with the guile of art, within an anti-brand, with personas that include personal names when they are most likely to achieve the intended effect and with masks when they work better. "Actions," those in Colum B will say, with ominous emphasis, "have consequences. You are with us or against us. And if you tell our secrets, leak to the news, we will crush you for the sake of Freedom. What we do to you, your fellow citizens will never know, for we control the message. Those who do know will be afraid to speak out." Against that we say, "Far be it from us, Mistress Candidia. Welcome to Carnival. Grab yourself a beer. Life is too short. Today we all have off. Even you, Boss. Enjoy it with us. Come, let us dance!"

"He explains to people better than we can why these are good things to invest in," Mr. Burkle said in an interview on Thursday night in Mr. Clinton's Harlem office. "He'll talk about the importance to the economy, to the community. And he builds the brand of Yucaipa."
Doing good with a compound annual growth rate of 45%. At the top, everything comes together; one good turn deserves another, and deals are struck among friends. Too bad Michael Milken's Presidential pardon fell through, though. Life is sweet at the top. It all just falls into our hands.
World.inc is that which is directed by a hundred consortiums based on their singular model wherein everything is a market and the market dictates everything, while World.com is a society of markets with a human face resting on the development of consensus at all levels, and for all peoples, of this knowledge society.
Via Jon H at Wirearchy, who has served as a translater from French to Engish for this collaborative work. Cluetrain already seems so dated and so market-centric, so marketing focused. We are beginning to see that a wired world is about community, democracy, sociability, socialization, about social production of meaning, self, and forms of governance. Markets are fine too, but we have plenty of that already.

I want to put Wealth Bondage under erasure! Wealth Bondage, it appears, is always on the move, in constant deferral like money itself, posing as value. (Do we not speak of "breaking a dollar?" Or, of "making change?" Or "circulating money"?) The chain of value (the value of chains) is always already irreducibly broken allowing it to oscillate and escape its own use, exchange, surplus, etc, as you can see when you go to foreign country and have to use a differnent currency - the same, but different. But also at stake in the strategic refusal of foreclosure is the positioning of a crisis in Wealth Bondage. A question that I have often considered as a Subaltern person in a crappy Adjunt job, but which I have as yet to face, concerns the issue of what a scoring of alienated labour-power onto consciousness would sound like inside/outside Wealth Bondage, a voice cut so deeply into the boundary of Wealth Bondage that like an errant employee sneaking in and out of the building, it both obeyed and evaded the logic of Subordinate Labor? How could Marx’s economic texts as (un)marking onto subaltern body be sounded?
Time and energy are against me now, since I have not eaten breakfast, and skipped lunch, my finances being a bit tight, but a brief word none-the-less: Think of Wealth Bondage as a giant Vagina! These material degradations--fissures or invaginations of a foreclosed universality, a heroic but bounded eroticism--are black/face performances. There occurs in such performances a revaluation or reconstruction of value, one disruptive of the oppositions of speech and writing, and spirit and matter, even of sense and nonsense as we have known them while under the spell of Hegemonic Southwestern Culture. It moves by way of the (phono-photo-porno-pseudo)graphic disruption the shriek it carries out. This movement cuts and augments the primal. If we return again and again to a certain passion, a passionate response to passionate utterance, horn-voice-horn over percussion, a protest, an objection, or abjection, or objurgation, it is because it is more than another violent scene of subjection too terrible to pass on and too obscene to pass up, it is the ongoing performance, the prefigurative scene of a (re)appropriation – the deconstruction and reconstruction, the improvisational recording and revaluation – of value, of the theory of value, of the value of theory.
Well, Candidia, calls; I dare not tarry. (I want to thank Whispering Dave at Long Sunday for the Textuality Specimin I have (re)appropriated here even as I have traversed the capitalistic system of quotation marks, rooted in property law that we must now inhabit but with at difference, pending the rise of the proletriat under the command of Captain Blowtorch to overturn Wealth Bondage and return it to the people of our great Western Hemisphere. Actually, Blowtorch has been courteous enought to invite me to serve as visiting speaker for the upcoming rally of the Hogs of Heaven, this Saturday night, followed by a "dummy drag" as he called it through Jasper, TX, concluding with a "weennie roast." My topic is "Chains of Bloody Signifiers: Dismembering the Different." He said we could do show and tell. Interesting. Needless to say, I am looking forward to it.)

Senator Russ Feingold, the famous traitor, who would depose our President because Feingold hates America has set up a so-called Progressive Patriots Fund to elect more traitors to Congress. Freedom can be taken a little too far. We can't let Terrorists take down America from the inside out. The enemy lies within.
I have to chuckle, look at this: Delta cuts pay, tosses out the pension, and gets its employees to work nights and weekends mucking out the airplanes for free. Yes, the volunteers get a t-shirt. You got to love it. Gift culture is alive and well. Delta top management deserves a raise.

Cluetrain meet John Locke. I have been reading this wonderful book, The Wealth of Networks, by Yochai Benkler. It's available online. Oddly one of the people he acknowledges is a former floor-mate of Dick Minim's and mine, from our Oxford days, now an attorney in NYC. Benkler is conversant not only with "wirearchy" issues, and the smart mobs kind of discussion, and conversations about the commons, and Larry Lessig, but he is also steeped in economics, sociology, law, and political theory in the classical liberal tradition. (He has an affinity with libertarianism too and with anarchism, not bad for a Harvard Law professor.) I am just now one third through and it is already the most satisfying and stimulating book I have read since Lewis Hyde's "The Gift." "Social production" is a term Benkler has coined. Produced that is, in the Dumpster, not in business nor by government, but in that third space we create for ourselves on the net, or in our face to face commons and gift cultures, or in our volunteer, not for profit activities. Wonderful stuff.
What, Hyde, the poet, intuits about giving, Benkler, the theorist and jurist, makes explicit. Both are mounting a defense of the holy spirit and of democracy in the age of copyright, branded deadness, and plutocracy.
